Ludhiana: In a devastating turn of events, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gurpreet Gogi has lost his life after a fatal gunshot wound, reportedly inflicted accidentally. Gogi, who represented the Ludhiana West Assembly constituency, was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed to DMC Hospital late Friday night.
As soon as news broke about the incident, Ludhiana Police Commissioner Kuldeep Chahal promptly arrived at the hospital to oversee the situation, accompanied by DCP Shubham Aggarwal, ADCP Ramandeep Bhullar, and ACP Akarshi Jain.

According to initial reports, the tragic incident occurred around midnight when Gurpreet Gogi was at home. It is alleged that while cleaning his personal pistol, the firearm discharged accidentally, fatally striking him in the head. Family members quickly rushed him to the hospital, but unfortunately, medical personnel declared him dead upon arrival. DCP Jaskaran Singh Teja confirmed that Gogi was indeed pronounced dead at the hospital, where his body has since been placed in the mortuary. Authorities have stated that a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the precise cause of death, though it appears to be an unfortunate accident.
